I've been wanting to do a cross country trip on a motorcycle ever since I started riding in 2005. A year or two I was talking to a few different friends and brought up the idea and had two that wanted to go. Ended up getting two weeks of vacation approved in 2013 for the trip and a few weeks before the trip my buddy said he wasn't able to get his vacation approved and the same night the motor blew on my r1.
Fast forward a year and I'll be damned if I don't go! Have my vacation approved from July 3rd through July 21st.
Tried to pick up a few things over the winter to help make the trip a bit more bearable:
Kriega UScombo30 Drypack System
Teknic Jet Stream 2-Piece Rain Suit
Alpinestars ST-1 Drystar Gloves
Tour Master Deluxe Boot Covers
Stop & Go Tubeless Tire Plugger With CO2 (tested on my other bike without the CO2 and works perfectly)
Sena SMH10R Bluetooth Headset with extra battery pack and earbud adapter
TomTom Rider GPS
Coretech Tank bag
Helmet Assisted Radar Detection (H.A.R.D.)
I also drag race this bike and my best time in the 1/4 mile is 9.7 seconds at 153mph with nitrous. With the same mods on my other r1 I had last summer and different gearing I was able to run a 9.5 @ 146. To enjoy the roads I have put it back to stock wheel base and installed a ohlins rear shock.
Along with those new goodies I plan on wearing my Bell Star helmet with transition shield, RS Tachi GMX Motion leather jacket, Alpinestars GP Tech leather gloves, jeans and Alpinestars Joey riding shoes.
Plan on purchasing some Pilot Power Road 2's closer to when I leave and still need to purchase a way to charge my cell phone so I can stream music to my headset and not worry about it running out of batteries if an emergency happened.
Here is the route I have planned at the moment, think it is pretty much good to go but definitely willing to change it depending on weather or other recommendations along the way. (Google only lets you have customize a route so many times so I had to break it out into 4 separate routes lol)

Hopefully they are embeded below as well so you don't have to copy/paste!
I'll try my best to update as I go and hopefully have some amazing pictures and some videos once I return.
Thanks for looking and now for some pictures!
