Left Ojai and headed out to Hwy 101 and then rode on Hwy 1 up the coast up until Monterey. Once in Monterey I headed back east into Fresno.
Didn't snag too many pictures today, just enjoyed the view while riding on Hwy 1. In the morning it was actually really cold, bike said it was 62 while riding along the coast. It was foggy and cold but once I actually was able to ride next to the ocean the temps didn't seem as bad when I had a great view. Stopped a beach to warm up and saw the cool shark spotting sign..

After warming up a bit I kept cruising down and was going to go to the Hearst Castle, but after reading a few reviews I didn't think I'd have enough time. But I did remember that when talking to another rider I met along my route earlier in the week, that just north of the castle was a place to watch elephant whales. There was a actually a lot of people there for a weekday and a nice lady was walking around telling information about them. It was really cool to listen to her and talk to someone that you could tell was passionate about the animals. She said some times the big males get up to 5,000 lbs and the scars on their necks are from fighting.
This big one came up from the ocean and pretty much made himself the boss. The one closest to him looked pretty scared lol.
You can see on him the big scars from fighting for his mate.

After seeing the whales I kept riding and once it actually got sunny I didn't want to stop to take any pictures so only have one good one with it over casted/foggy.
Once I got to Fresno it started to warm up. Bike said temp was 102. I think it is pretty nuts to have the temperature increase 40 degrees in only a few hours while travelling across the state.
Off to see some ol' trees tomorrow!
