Left Barstow pretty early this morning and headed down to San Bernardino area. Rode on Hwy 138, which was a great/twisty road then some how my gps threw me onto Hwy 18 (Rim of the World Hwy). Then rode out to Hwy 38 but only got about halfway through before I turned around to make it to Sky Thrills by 1:00
I made it to Sky Thrills at the Fullerton Airport by about 12:45, and they were some really cool guys. A brief little lesson, suit up in some cool gear and away we went. Once the pilot took off I took over the controls and flew out to the ocean. Once over the ocean I was able to do a bunch of cool things like a Loop, a Roll, a Hammerhead, a Spin or and Inverted pass. The Hammerhead was by far the coolest trick that I did, its where you climb straight up into the air and just before it stalls you make the plane dive to the side, do a spin and come back out of it. At the end the pro pilot took over and did a few tricks, and wow he made it seem easy and so controlled. The G forces we pulled while doing the tricks I don't think I can get that adrenaline pump from anything else. Sky diving is a close second but it just something everybody should experience that likes to go fast/adrenaline. I got the plane up to just over 180mph and that was the easy part compared to the tricks lol
After that I rode down to mulholland drive, which was another fun and super twisty road through the mountain/canyon. Also rode a bit of Hwy 1, more of that tomorrow!
