Left the hotel bright and early today to go see Mount Rushmore. The roads out to see Mt Rushmore had great views and was really fun to look around while riding. My camera can not capture the depth and wide open feeling you get while taking in the view.
Walked all around everywhere I could on the trail around Mount Rushmore, pretty amazing to look at the tools that were used and read the stories on how it was built. Might impressive for being done at the time it was.
Then rode out to see the Crazy Horse Memorial. While walking around I was told they were going to blast some of the rock off the mountain, 365 tons to be exact. I decided I'd stick around and watch it so it made sense to kill some time and get lunch there. Since the expected a big crowd for the blast, they sat me with a gentleman who was eating by himself as well. He was a super cool guy and from the cities too. He was heading out to Sacramento for a new job and doing a little road trip along the way. He told me about needles highway so I had to go check that out.
I didn't get too many pictures in Needles, I was getting super hot and the camera really didn't capture the depth like I was wishing it would. absolutely beautiful ride though, would like to go back and do it again when it isn't 4th of July weekend.
Didn't see too much after that besides a little heard of buffalo on the way to Wyoming. Well did see a sheriff or Wyoming State Patrol nab 3 speeders.
Beautiful weather so far, fingers crossed that this gorgeous weather continues!
